It's a loan where you borrow rand against your bitcoin instead of selling it. You send bitcoin to a secure custody address as collateral, we pay rand to your bank, and when you repay a healthy loan your bitcoin comes back to you. Approval is based on your bitcoin, not your credit score, so you keep your upside without giving up your coins.
So you can cover life in rand - a deposit, a tax bill, an opportunity - without selling the bitcoin you believe in. You keep your upside and avoid triggering a taxable disposal, while unlocking cash fast.
Once your collateral is confirmed on-chain, we pay rand straight to your bank, usually the same day. Repeat loans are quicker still.
South African rand (ZAR), paid directly to your local bank account.
Any South African resident over 18 with a local bank account and bitcoin to use as collateral. We run a quick identity check (KYC) but no credit check. Your loan approval is based on your bitcoin collateral, not on your credit score.
Yes. Businesses can borrow against their bitcoin treasury and access preferred rates on larger loans. Get in touch and we'll set you up.
You repay the rand you borrowed plus interest, and your bitcoin collateral is released back to you within two business days of your final payment.
Yes, any time before your loan term ends, with no early-repayment penalties. You only pay interest for the time you borrow.
One fixed origination fee of R5 250, plus interest on what you borrow. Adding collateral later costs 1% of the value added, and rolling a loan into a new one costs 1% of the principal rolled. No hidden costs, no early-repayment penalties.
Annual interest rates start from 15% and depend on your loan size: 19% up to R250 000, 17% up to R1 000 000, and 15% above that. You see your exact rate before you apply.
Yes. Your collateral is held in a 2-of-3 cold multisig vault with keys split across independent parties. We never hold single-key custody, never rehypothecate, and never lend your coins out. Don't trust, verify.
LTV is how we measure the health of your loan. It is your outstanding balance divided by the value of your bitcoin collateral. We open loans at a maximum 50% LTV, which gives you healthy headroom if the bitcoin price moves.
No. While it secures your loan, your bitcoin stays locked in the multisig vault and can't be moved or traded. It's returned to you once you repay.
It sits untouched in cold multisig storage as your collateral. We don't move it, sell it, or lend it out. It simply waits for you to repay.
Only if the bitcoin price falls far enough that your LTV reaches 80% and you haven't acted on your margin calls. Your first margin call comes at 65%, which starts a 72-hour window to top up or repay, with further warnings at 70% and 75%. If you act in time, all your bitcoin stays yours. If the loan reaches 80%, we liquidate just enough collateral to bring it back to a safe level.
Your margin calls start at 65% and give you a 72-hour window to top up collateral or repay part of the loan, with further warnings at 70% and 75%. If your LTV still reaches 80%, we liquidate just enough of your collateral to restore a safe level. Acting on any of the earlier calls avoids this.
It's an early warning that your loan-to-value is rising and you should act. Your first comes at 65% and starts a 72-hour window to top up collateral or repay part of the balance, with further warnings at 70% and 75%. It's there to protect your bitcoin, well before the 80% level where any liquidation would happen.
Yes. Before your collateral is confirmed and the loan is funded, you can cancel at no cost. Once funds are paid out, standard repayment terms apply.
